The kingdom of Arendelle is coming back to life! Kristen Bell, the beloved voice of Princess Anna, has officially confirmed that production on Frozen 3 will begin soon, and that she’s already received the long-awaited script for the third chapter in Disney’s billion-dollar franchise.
A Long-Awaited Return to Arendelle
Bell recently shared exciting news during an interview, revealing that she and the cast are gearing up to start production in the coming months. “We’re all very excited. The script is amazing,” Bell said, adding that she can’t wait to reunite with her co-stars, including Idina Menzel (Elsa) and Josh Gad (Olaf).
Although Bell hasn’t yet heard any of the new songs, she hinted that the creative team — led by returning directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck — has crafted another emotionally rich story filled with adventure, sisterhood, and self-discovery.
Release Date and Expectations
Disney has officially set Frozen 3 for a theatrical release on November 24, 2027, aligning perfectly with the Thanksgiving holiday — much like the first two installments. The studio promises an “epic and heartfelt continuation” of the saga, which has already grossed more than $2.7 billion worldwide.
A New Chapter, Bigger Than Ever
Early concept art unveiled in mid-2024 hinted at a grander fantasy tone: Elsa astride a mystical white horse and Anna riding a powerful brown stag. These visuals suggest a story that expands the magical universe beyond Arendelle, possibly exploring new realms or the origins of Elsa’s powers.
Josh Gad, who voices the lovable snowman Olaf, previously explained that the long production timeline is intentional. “We want to make sure this story is perfect. Frozen has always been about heart — and that takes time,” he said.
The Franchise’s Legacy
The Frozen films remain among Disney’s most iconic achievements, with the original winning two Academy Awards and introducing the world to the hit song “Let It Go.” Frozen II deepened the lore and shattered box office records in 2019. With Frozen 3, fans can expect even higher emotional stakes and musical magic.
And if that’s not enough, Disney CEO Bob Iger has already teased a Frozen 4 may also be in development — making this a full-blown Frozen renaissance.
